An electric fence is a legal installation, not just a security accessory. In South Africa, electric fencing has to comply with SANS 10222 and the energiser must be approved, earthed properly and installed by someone who knows the regulations. A fence that doesn't meet the standard is a liability — if it fails and your property is broken into, the insurance company will ask about the installation certificate before they pay out.

The installation itself is more than stringing wire. It's correct earth spikes, proper insulated brackets, the right wire tension so the fence doesn't sag and short on the wall, and the energiser sized to the length of fence with battery backup for load shedding. We also integrate the fence with your alarm system where you have one, so a tamper or cut registers on the panel instead of just sitting there humming.

Fences need maintenance the same way a car does. Vegetation growing against the wire causes leakage that drains the energiser and weakens the shock. Brackets corrode, wires go slack, and the battery backup gets forgotten until the first outage. We inspect, test and service electric fences as part of our maintenance contracts, and we test the fence voltage on every visit so you know what's actually on the wire.
